Skins is a teen drama, but it cannot be compared to the O.C or Gossip Girl. A lot of the plot is shocking, and the show is not scared to go into those "dark places". It seems rather natural and realistic then the other shows out there on the lives of teens. I been to England one summer, and I am not surprised by the behavior//plot lines on the show. Kids really do led lives as that.
Every two seasons (or series as they call them) the cast gets replaced completely--which is a pretty clever idea; that way, new plot lines and characters can be introduced
Now MTV has decided to do a North American remake of this show, should be interesting-the plot stays the same...:/
But for now I'll await season 5 of Skins, here is a season 4 promo and season 5
