Holidays

The holiday season is a great time to relax and rest up; however when you have two of your best friends' birthday in a row...well I'll let the photos tell the story

Steph and Mel have been my friends since grade 9 (six years now). We have shared a lot things over the past years. I am really lucky to have them as friends : )

A lot of dancing went down
...
and I mean a lot of dancing.

There was cake at some point of the night
Pretty balloons from Mel's work , Its My Party (Danforth and Chester)

The all nighter trick

It is now 2:10 a.m. and my assignment pile on my desk doesn't seem to be getting any less. Even though I didn't not leave my homework until the last minute, I feel as if I didn't not get enough time to complete it. (feeling like that ^)

This seems to happen every term to me. What is it about the night time that makes my brain work better?! Had all day (literary all day-no classes or work) to work on it, but instead I spent my time snoozing away. Worst part of it, I knew I would wait until the last minute to get it done, not sure what it is with students to wait, wait until its too late. Most assignments are given out at the beginning of the term, so we as students can schedule ourselves to have the time to complete them as well as have a social life- but nope.

The music that is playing in the background seems so absurd as well, got it on a random play list-

Music Play list : "Hard Sun" Eddie Vedder -Into the wild soundtrack
"the Perfect Drug" Nine Ince Nails - Lost Highway
" Ghosts n Stuff" Deadmau5/ Rob Swire
etc.

Well need to work on this homework playlist

Trip to the Falls

Got to say my friends are some of the best people out there.

This weekend we planned a trip to N Falls for a night-to go shopping in the states and enjoy some arcade games.

I wasn't aware was the surprise they had for me. I was working at an event the night before we were to leave for the trip, my friend offered to pick me up and drive me over to her house so we can all be together in the morning to leave early for the trip. I made them wait awhile and felt bad that I rushed to get my stuff together.

As we pull out from my parking lot I realized that we were going the wrong way…no one listened to me saying “ guys we are going the wrong way..” I was a tad confused about that. It was until my friend turned around and told me we are heading to the falls that night and staying in some dinky motel on the way, I was so surprised and didn’t think it was something my friends could pull off.

The drive home was rather quick as well, it included us napping for most it and catching up on our lost sleep from the weekend. The trip was a success: watching my friends spend over $200 on clothes and goodies.

Getting across to the states was amusing, and the Keg was amazing with hair and all : )

Windows 7 phone

Every time I see the new Windows 7 phone commercial, " Really", I can't help but smile and laugh, because it true!

All my friends can vouch for the fact that I get too distracted by my phone. I think Windows did a good job with the commercial. It actually made me carious about the phone because the commercial didn't give too much away.

Now how can you not find this funny?!
But think about what this says about us as a society and how a smart phone have taken over lives; less funny, but isn't true that we laugh at the truth because it's easier than admitting it.

Just think about how many times you were distracted with your phone, and think about how /if it took away from what you were doing and if you missed out on anything.......

Do the Monster Mash

Now that I've had the week to recover from the weekend of Halloween celebration, I can get back to posting my blog

Speaking of Halloween here are just some of the creatures of the night I saw:

Project Vein?

So I spent 34.33 minutes of my life watching Kanye West’s film/music video creation for Runaway….

In the first part…well I actually wasn’t sure what happened there..second part, we are in what appears to be Kanye’s house with a human bird …he starts to play music causing her to dance in a seductive. Must say I liked the costume, but what on earth is the bird representing?! I am all for the artistic music videos with social commentary, but was this too much. Recently, M.I.A had a 10 mins video as well, but that one had a clear message, no matter how graphic it was, it wasn’t being “pretentious” as this (sorry for those that disagree with this).

I am a fan of Kanye (even after the Tyler swift incident) but still, c'mon 34.33 minutes of declaring your greatness…and the MJ tribute?! Huh ?!?

I questioned myself if I was on drugs a few times during this. At 9 minutes I was waiting for the end, but nope. Watching a bird drink tea for 2 minutes? Was that necessary.

I don’t get what Kanye is trying to prove with this? Sure he answered this question in various interviews, but why? Really why??

I’ll let you be the judge: here in all its 30 minute glory

Also I would really like to see the budget for this?!

Farewell to the Shore

Since Aug millions (just guessing here) of viewers have been glued to the their screen on Thursday nights to Snooki, J-Wow, Mike "The situation" and the rest of the cast of Jersey Shore.

I'll openly say it has become more than just a guilty pleasure or something to watch on a Thursday night (speaking of which, what is there to watch?!? ...reading a book it is), I find myself enjoying it and growing somewhat attached to the cast.

This season bought a whole new level of drama and fighting. 'Sigh' how did television get to this point? But when next season comes around I know I'll be staying tune to watch it : )

Tonight at 10 will be the season finally of it-- knowing MTV next season is just around the corner with even more fit pumping!

Premature Death that fits in your Hands

KFC has taken it to the next level with its launch of the Double Down in Canada. What happened to being more health conscious Canada?!?

And I thought the deep fired butter was a crazy idea this past summer at the CNE.

So what is a Double Down? Well it goes a little like this: Chicken. Bacon. Cheese. Chicken....(nope they did not forget the bun folks).

It may not be all that bad when you break down the nutritional numbers for the Double Down. But the look of it alone for some will send them running in fear (me included!).

Each one has 540 calories, 30 grams of fat and 1,740 milligrams of sodium. That is 116% of the recommend daily intake of sodium. And this isn't including the side of fries and possible dipping sauce.

For me this is the death sentence. I highly doubt it's gluten free so I won't be trying it. I just don't see how something having so much sodium to taste all that great..but I'll leave it for the public to be the judge of that.

It's here for only six weeks-- no doubts in my mind it will make a return.

Attempt number two at keeping up with a blog. There is stuff to write about, but with all my assignments and work, when does one find time to write for fun anymore?

Updates: Summer was wonderful to me for a the following reasons:

1. Going away to Spain for two weeks-nothing beats laying on the beach in the day and going out in the night life of Malaga.

2. Living on my own downtown Toronto- being responsible for myself at all times is harder work than I thought it to be at first. Having to keep a budget for food and rent was interesting. Lesson taken away, have an alarm clock when having to work at 7 am!

3. Working full time at Zara- though I recently just left the company to focus on school, it was fun having something different to do everyday and learning new things from my manager.

That pretty much sums up my summer.

Being back school feels pretty great. Having to stress out about assignments and managing my time well, gives me something to look forward-so thank you school : )

Recently I have purchased a Blackberry. Being semi-against it for the most part, I gave in and traded my Palm for a Blackberry. I must say it lives up to the hype, and yes BBM is the "best thing ever"
