Just as most people have, I went to see the Black Swan today..there was so much hype about it that I couldn't resit it.
I did hear mixed reviews on it, and was warned that it was strange and not to expect anything....
The first few minutes made me miss myself dancing and taking ballet class, and then things started to get darker and darker. For most of the movie I on was on edge, even my boyfriend filched a few times at the gruesomeness of the scenes. I enjoyed that aspect of the film, made feel unsure about everything, even though I felt as if I know what was going to happen..I couldn't tell. I felt as if I was going to become insane myself afterwards : )
The philosophy of the movie was good, it shows how we all have inner demons we need to face and the ballet plot was a nice back drop for it. The ballet setting helped convey the points of how some people will do just about anything to get what they want. The movie messed around with the audiences' mind for sure
I do recommend for people to go see it; however, know it's not a ballet//dance movie a.k.a Step Up, and it is dark and not a happy ending. You'll most likely leave the theatre saying "WTF" and spend a good deal of time afterwards thinking about what you just saw and try to analyze each bit of it to understand it.
