First day: goals

I have always found the first day of classes to be somewhat motivational; fresh start, new goals, new teachers and assignments. However I find this feeling doesn't last more than a week or so, and then it's back to being grumpy and annoyed with the course load. Thus my plan is make some realistic goals and tasks for each week and work towards them. I have always been wanting to do that, but being tired and working got in the way. This term I have no excuse, for I am not working and my class schedule isn't bad at all.

In my media relations class this afternoon the teacher gave the class an in-depth look into the different fields of public relations, and the pros and cons of each...causing me to be even more confused as to what I would like to do for my internship next year, not to mention my career. But as I have said before, public relations offers opportunities pretty much anywhere; just got to go and get them.

So as of today, yes TODAY (I'll make sure I'll actually do it) is to:

A) Make a list of companies and organizations I'll like to volunteer for this year

B) Email them

C) Repeat

From this I hope to get more insight and experiences, as well make some contacts. I'll hopefully be able to narrow down a bit more as to what I would like to be doing afterwards.

Non-profit or government (public affairs) is still at the top of my list; however, I do think agency or corporate would be fun, and I can learn a lot from it quickly......if only I had a magic crystal ball to me!!!
